For over four decades, Peace Rural Missions has been a lifeline for rural women and widows; providing care, skills training, counseling, and the transforming hope of the Gospel.

Why We Care for Women & Widows

The Bible speaks clearly: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress." — James 1:27

In many rural Nigerian communities, widows face extreme hardship. Stripped of their rights, cast out from their homes, and left without support, these women often have nowhere to turn. They bear the weight of raising children alone, with no income and no voice.

Since 1985, Peace Rural Missions has made it a core calling to reach these women with the love of Christ; not just with words, but with practical, life-changing support that restores their dignity and gives them hope for the future.

What We Provide

Our Programs for Women & Widows

Comprehensive care that touches every area of a woman's life, body, soul, and spirit.

Skills Acquisition Training

We train rural women and widows in tailoring, soap making, bead making, catering, and small-scale farming; giving them the tools to become self-sustaining and financially independent. These skills have helped hundreds of women start small businesses and feed their families with dignity.

Food & Material Support

Regular distribution of food items, clothing, household essentials, and educational materials for their children. Our outreach teams visit widows in their homes and communities, delivering supplies and ensuring their basic needs are met throughout the year.

Counseling & Emotional Care

Grief counseling, trauma healing, and emotional support for widows dealing with loss and rejection. Our trained counselors provide one-on-one and group sessions that help women process their pain, find healing, and discover renewed purpose in God.

Micro-Finance Support

Small grants and micro-loans to help widows start petty trading, establish small businesses, and generate sustainable income. We walk alongside each woman, providing mentorship and accountability to help their businesses grow and succeed.

Health & Maternal Care

Free medical consultations, maternal healthcare, reproductive health education, and referral services for women in our communities. We partner with medical professionals to ensure rural women receive the healthcare they deserve.

Spiritual Fellowship & Discipleship

Regular women's fellowship meetings, Bible study groups, prayer gatherings, and retreats. These gatherings create a community of support where women grow in faith, encourage one another, and experience the healing presence of God together.
